Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Scan is a technique used in cases where dental x-rays are not sufficient. CBCT scan is used to produce 3-D images/views or sections of patient’s teeth, jaw, soft tissues and nerve canal in a single scan. In this procedure, a C-shaped X-Ray arm is moved around the patient. The X-ray beam is cone-shaped and generates high-quality images. Cone Beam CT scan needs lower radiation, which is an advantage over a conventional CT scan.
