About Nidaan
Nidaan opened its doors on 12th May 1985 on Laxmi road in Pune by Dr. Ajit P. Shah. This clinic on Laxmi road is reputed for its excellent quality of X-rays ever since its establishment. Nidaan on Laxmi road was unique and sophisticated for its time and the first polyclinic in Pune. The panoramic dental-ray (OPG) unit was first successfully installed in 2000, and was an instant success due to the superior quality of X-rays and excellent customer service. Over the years, with the advent of newer technology, the computed radiography (CR) system was installed at the Laxmi road clinic in 2006.
Nidaan today has four centres in Pune, with a vision of growing and becoming the most complete, reliable and affordable partner to dentists, not just in the state but in the country.
Dr. Akshay Shah
Since graduating with honors in 2007, Dr. Akshay Shah has been the key decision-maker at Nidaan Diagnostic Centre. Dr Shah successfully established India’s first standalone dental imaging centre in Camp, Pune in 2009 followed by another centre on Karve road, Pune in 2013. He set up their first Cone Beam CT (CBCT) unit in 2016 in their camp branch and then went on to open their 4th center at Aundh, Pune with CBCT and dental x-rays. Between the 4 centers in Pune, approximately 700 dentists are currently referring their patients to Nidaan for dental imaging.
Dr Akshay has been invited as a faculty at several National and International conferences like AOCR (Asian Oceanic Congress of Radiology, IRIA National Conference and IRIA Asian Radiology Forum) to talk on CBCT and 3D printing.
In addition to dental imaging, the Camp center also provides a wide range of other investigations such as Digital X-rays, Sonography, Color Doppler, 2D-echo, Pathology investigations, and ECG.
Dr. Ajit Shah
Dr. Ajit Shah graduated from Miraj Medical College and went on to do his post-graduation in Radiodiagnosis from Tata Memorial Hospital, University of Bombay, in 1984 with a gold medal. To further update his knowledge he worked at the Department of Radiology, John Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA for 6 months.
After successfully completing his studies, he founded Nidaan X-ray clinic on 12th May 1985. Famous for his x-ray quality and outstanding procedures, Dr. Shah setup up the first dental x-ray (OPG) unit at Laxmi road in the year 2000.
He has served as the Head of Department, Department of Radiology, ESIS Hospital, Aundh and retired from ESIS Hospital in March 2008 as the Medical Superintendent.
